First of all I do not want to do this for performance reasons, just for under hood cooling. In my experience with the Z32, it just gets too hot in the engine bay. Even when my 2+2 was NA the harness got toasted, connectors so brittle they break just by touching them. Now my z is TT and I just bought a new Engine harness from coz, who says the harnesses are getting very hard to find. So, in my opinion something must be done for engine bay cooling, and exhaust wrap just seems to be the most logical answer. I know it will drop under hood temps, but there's alot of talk about RUSTING and CRACKING manifolds and ENGINE OVERHEATING that makes me think twice about it. I thought the silicone spray is supposed to keep the wrap from retaining water and causing rust. Anyone with experience or knowlege please post.
Give a man an na z and he thinks he's superman. Give a man a twin turbo z and he thinks he's god. To Z or not to Z, that is the question |
